Jonesy's Tacos

1502 S. 60th Street, Omaha NE

Where we went:

After returning home from a great vacation (Santa Fe, New Mexico) and consuming all the wonderful food we found there (seriously we had some GREAT meals), we really just needed something fast, cheap and easy when we returned to Omaha. We chose to return to a place neither of us had heard about until three months ago, when we were recommended it, Jonesy's Tacos.

What we Eat:

Jonesy’s Tacos features many staples in most Mexican Food restaurants, however, their are best known for their deep fried Taco. Today was Taco Tuesday, so we each had their two of their $5 tacos, both beef and chicken. These tacos come with a mountain of lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.

The Food:

Jonesy’s Tacos are excellent, they shells and meat are nice and hot, which melted most of the cheese. The vegetables are fresh and tasty. Last time we were there Eric ordered a house margarita as well, which we both tried and was delicious, this time we both stuck to soda.

The Atmosphere:

If you want the atmosphere of a diner, Jonesy’s is the place for you. IT is a little, hole in the wall, type restaurant. We don’t know if Jonesy's is a family owned business or not, but it sure has that feel to it. The waitress, and man who took our payment at the counter, were both the same people we saw working there last time. We are always very happy to support family operated businesses.

The Service:

The service at Jonesy's was surprisingly fast. The last time we were there, it wasn’t exactly slow, but took much longer then it did this time. We were actually caught off guard by how quickly our food came out. Admittedly, this was Taco Tuesday, so they likely had pre-made many of their classic tacos, but it was still good. The waitress was very nice and checked on us multiple times.

In the End:

Jonesy’s is very good, personally Kyle doesn’t think it holds up as well as California Taco, but that wouldn’t stop him from returning again. It’s a perfect place to grab a fast, cheap and tasty Mexican meal. We are thankful to our friends who suggested this place originally.
