Razzie’s Deli

2615 N. 90th Street, Omaha, NE

Where we went:

After graduating from College, Kyle moved to an apartment on 90th and Blondo in Omaha. While living here he discovered Razzie’s Deli, a very small, very unknown, Deli just across 90th street from his place. Razzie’s seemed the same as every other sandwich shop in the world, including the Subway that is right next door, despite that Kyle decided to give it a try. Wow, he was blown away! So he wanted to share this small, hole in the wall, location with Eric today.

What we Eat:

Kyle did his typical sandwich, a toasted, turkey, ham and Swiss on a hoagie bun. Eric, on the other hand, went for Razzie’s signature chili something Kyle had never tried. He was also excited to try their dessert, ordering their Oreo cream pie. We both topped it off with a fountain soda.

The Food:

Again, there shouldn't be anything special about the sandwiches at Razzy’s, but for some reason they are just so good! The bread is always fresh, the meat is always warm and cut just right. Kyle hadn’t been here in years, and was so happy to come back (he hasn’t lived at 90th and Blondo for many years now). Eric’s chili was a bit too hot to eat at first, but after it cooled it was delicious, not the best chili he has ever had, but very good. Eric, of course, also really loved the pie!

The Atmosphere:

Atmosphere isn’t the first thing you think of at Razzy’s. It is just a small deli, with some booths for seating. The counter and kitchen take up most of the restaurant. That being said, there are many unique things and pictures hanging on the walls that will keep your interest, and each table has a stack of Trivial Pursuit cards, this kept us very entertained while we were waiting for our food.

The Service:

Like most deli’s, you order at the counter, then the staff shout your order number when it is ready. So there isn’t much in the way of actual service. The woman at the counter was friendly, and took our order efficiently. We felt a little bad because their menu isn’t posted online anywhere, so we had to take a few minutes to look at the menu being the counter to figure out what we wanted. Luckily we were the only people in Razzy’s at the time, so we weren’t holding up a line or anything.

In the End:

Kyle can’t say enough good things about the sandwiches at Razzy’s. There is just something about the way their make their food that puts it a step above every other deli in the world. It is the perfect location over the lunch hours if you are in central Omaha. Kyle was very happy to rediscover this old friend, and delighted that Eric now also loves it!
